Job description
Malaika Family Care is seeking experienced female support workers to provide respite care at a short-term accommodation (STA) home in Melbourne.
We are looking for dedicated, reliable staff who can build lasting relationships with our clients, treating them with the same care as their own family. Various shifts are available, including mornings, afternoons, and midnight shifts, as well as weekends.
Responsibilities include:
- Safe use of hoist equipment
- Personal care assistance
- Medication assistance
- Meal planning and preparation
- Cleaning, laundry, ironing, and light housekeeping
- Organizing outings, activities and games
- Companionship and conversation
- Other tasks as needed
Essential requirements:
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, or Community Support (or working towards it)
- NDIS Screening Check
- Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Manual Handling Certificate
- Food Safety Training Certificate
- Medication Administration Certificate
- NDIS Training Modules
- Current National Police Certificate
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
- Current Australian drivers license
- Car Insurance Policy
- Minimum of 12 months related work experience (preferred)
- Availability to work any day of the week, including weekends
Causal hours: 20-40 per week
